Vrana

Vrana

The city of Vrana is situated in the Pakostane hinterland near the lake of the same name, which is the biggest lake in Croatia as far as surface goes. The tourist offer of Vrana is enriched by the recently restored Mašković Khan (Ottoman roadside inn), a monument of Ottoman architecture. Jusuf Mašković Khan in Vrana was built in the 17 th century and was used for civil purposes as an inn, landing or residence. The object was financed and ordered by Jusuf Mašković, high dignitary at the Ottoman court, born in Vrana or Pakostane .

It is the westernmost monument of secular Ottoman architecture in whole Europe. Every year at the end of August there is a historical-staging spectacle near the Mašković Khan, an occasion when the medieval history and camps, jousts and gastronomy fairs are brought back to life. This event is certainly worth your while. Vrana offers its tourists accommodation in apartments and rooms in private houses.
